The scheduled monument.
The scheduled site has layers upon layers of man-made change. In practice this means that, in places, any remaining archaeology could be lying 2.3 metres below years of backfill overburden. Unfortunately our resistivity equipment we use can only ‘see’ down to about 1 metre. However despite the limitations, there are some possible features. Due to the fact that this area is scheduled monument permission must be granted to carry out any work in this area. No excavation has been performed. So the questions posed by the possible features, what and when remain unanswered.
