We have carried out a detailed survey of the boundary wall between Abbey College and church’s cemetery, looking at and recording just over 200 pieces of dressed stone, one of the pieces having dog tooth and one a semi-circular pattern. One piece of coffin lid/grave marker may well be late 12th century. Having been given permission by Historic England four test pits were dug alongside the boundary wall as there was possible blind arcading in sections 6 and 7. That piece of work confirmed that there was blind arcading along these two sections of wall but due to the restrictions on the number size and depth of test pits we were unable to record the exact layout or how much of the wall had blind arcading.
