Church Green

The area over the road from the church, next to the duck pond

In general the geophysics showed very little in this area.

Along the northern side of the survey is a black linear feature which is most likely a drain, the giveaway being the small break in the linear data which is a drain cover. The feature isn’t wide, it’s around 1 metre. This indicates that it is highly unlikely that there was a lode, as is sometimes mentioned, across this open area. There are a few small hard features, whether they are archaeology will only be known when excavated. There is a very faint possible rectangular feature on a north west, south east alignment but is very faint. If it was a building then it may be that it was a wooden structure.
