These are photographs of the Principal Bedroom showing its barrel vaulted ceiling c1550. The curved rafters are intersected by long narrow beams dividing its area into rectangles. It is possible that originally the woodwork was covered hiding it from view. A small adjoining room was probably a powder closet. The fine stone fireplace of c1550 is set in the North wall, it was uncovered by Col. Warde when he lived at Bodsey. It has an arched head and a projecting cornice.
